BUILT ON THE AMERICAN DREAM

Athe business grew, Mr. Halle decided to expand into the single family residential housing market. The addition of this activity and the demand for greater quality in this product led to the expansion of his contracting business to include drywall, concrete finishing and painting. As the residential building business flourished, the need for greater control of land inventory required the company to move into the acquisition and development of land. The Halle Companies have since developed over 15,000 residential lots and built several thousand residential homes.

Since

1967

THE HALLE COMPANIES, A PROMINENT & SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY FOUNDED IN 1967 BY MR. WARREN E. HALLE.

The Halle Companies History

The creation of value through strategic positioning and the formation of quality environments is the Halle model.

1960's The Beginning

1967 / Warren E. Halle founded the Halle Companies. Since opening, the company behind the leadership of Halle has grown over the past five decades to become one of the most prominent and successful development companies in the entire Mid-Atlantic and South Eastern region of the United States. The Halle Companies specializes in the development, construction, and property management of one of the region’s most diversified portfolios in both residential and commercial real estate.

1985 Building the Brand

1985 / The Halle Companies acquires the 1,300-acre “Kingstown” property in Kingstowne, Virginia. Developing this land into the second largest planned community in the state of Virginia, the transformation of “Kingstowne” to a “Halle Neighborhood” completely revitalized this once struggling area. In addition to a spectacular 2.3 million square feet of commercial development here, there have also been over 5,2000 residential units developed to date.

1986 - 1988

1986-88 / A very successful three- year span in Halle Companies’ history, starting in 1986 with the construction of their 4 story, 29,300 square foot office building in Silver Spring, Maryland that still serves as company headquarters to this day. In 1987, the company would acquire the 850-acre “Seven Oaks” property in Odenton, MD, which has sold and developed over 3,300 residential units in addition to commercial property including a shopping center and office buildings. The 7-acre, 110,000 square foot Crofton Warehouses in Crofton, MD was also acquired in 1987, while the 64-unit Naples Manor Townhomes in Silver Spring were developed in 1988.

1990's Moving into the Future

1991-99 / In what has become commonplace with the quality that is synonymous with a Halle project, interest began to grow with others purchasing the properties developed under our company name. The $18 million Carousel Hotel in Ocean City, MD was sold in April of 1994 starting this trend of demand for already developed Halle properties.
Many of the properties initially acquired and then developed in the span of these eight years have since been sold, further cementing the reputation for unmatched quality that the Halle Companies wears as a badge of honor. These would include the Gresham Apartments that was acquired in 1991 and the Sussex Commons Apartments (acquired 1993) both in Kingstowne, VA and sold in 2004, The Cambridge Commons Apartments (Acquired 1992) and the Saybrooke Apartments (Acquired 1999) both located in Odenton, MD and sold in 2004.

2000 - 2009 New Millennium

2004 | A major acquisition in bringing the Halle Companies into the Carolinas and further south would be The Villages of Apex in 2004. This mixed-use community would feature over 18,000 square feet of retail and commercial space and over 1,500 single and mixed family units. An additional 228 Townhome lots, “The Villages of Apex South” would be added on in 2006, and “The Villages of Apex North” would also see a phase added that same year with 29 Townhome lots as well. The Halle name has become synonymous with downtown Apex, where the Halle Cultural Arts Center sits as a major part of the town that was named 2015’s Number One Best Place to live in The United States by Money Magazine. In April of 2008, Mr. Halle would acquire the “crown jewel” of the Halle yacht fleet, the luxurious Martha Ann I, an incredible 230-foot long vessel featuring a 42-foot beam, this ship has 6 separate deck and 7 staterooms.

2006 - 2008

2006-08 / Beginning in 2006, with the Apoise, Mr. Halle began development of a different kind, taking to the water along with renowned, world-class yacht builder Lurssen. The first two Halle luxury yachts from the Lurssen partnership would see “Marlin” launched in 2006 and not to be outdone, in May 2007, the 230 foot luxury yacht “Nemo” was launched with an impressive six decks and six staterooms.

2011 - 2012

2011 / With waterfront properties on an upswing in late 2011-12, the Halle Companies “took to the sea,” purchasing the 21-acre Seaside Village in Ocean City, Maryland. Hosting 71 beautiful townhomes and offering 21 boat slips, the success of this purchase, would lead to a second waterfront property that would take place.
The Halle brand continued to evolve further south to Littleton, North Carolina when in August 2012, Eaton’s Crossing, another waterfront community was acquired. Featuring some of the cities most incredible and awe-inspiring water and skyline views, 10 Light Street has been touted the “most architecturally significant building of the Baltimore skyline.”
